The team
The right person.
In your corner.
Every step of the way.
Whatever you came in for. Whether you have trained for years or never set foot in a gym. We pair you with the right person, build a plan that fits your week, and stay alongside you through the easy weeks and the hard ones.

Owner · Head coach
Luke Baker
Why I built this
There are more gyms, more personal trainers, and more fitness information than ever before. As a nation, we're getting fatter, weaker, and more fragile. That tells me something is broken. The fitness industry serves a small slice of people. Mostly the ones who already know what they're doing. I built Evolve for everyone else. The people who need it most.
Who I built it for
The mum. The dad. The grandparent. The person who has tried more than one thing and watched it not stick. The person who walks past a commercial gym and feels their stomach drop. The person who doesn't believe what they're trying to achieve is even possible. That is who I built this for.
What makes us different
We care about your result as much as you do. Whatever it takes. Support, accountability, education. And we put a guarantee behind it. You follow our program. If you don't hit the agreed result, we refund you in full. That's how confident we are in what we do.
How I coach
I do less one on one coaching than I used to. The studio has grown, and that's how it should be. When I do coach, it always starts with trust. People need to know I have their best interest at heart. Once the trust is there, the coaching begins. I'm not here to tell you what to do. I'm here to help you make your own decisions, so the change holds for life.
A member moment · Susan
A while back I helped Susan lose close to thirty kilos. We then trained for the Gold Coast half marathon. It was the first time in her adult life she'd ever run. She finished. Her husband and two kids were waiting at the finish line. There were tears, but what I remember most is the look on their faces. Their mum had just done something she hadn't believed she was capable of.
Outside the studio
My wife Kirrily and my daughter Sienna. They are who I am when I'm not at the studio. In here I run hot. Loud, busy, full on. At home, I am the opposite. Quieter. Movies. The park with Sienna. Date nights with Kirrily. Outside that, I still train, I'm competitive about pretty much everything, and I make time for my friends.
“It's better to be consistently average over a year than absolutely perfect for ten weeks.”

Head of People and Performance
Aris Charalambous
On why this
My own transformation got me into this. I lost 17 kilos and changed my lifestyle from the ground up. Going through that gave me a real understanding of how hard, and how rewarding, the process can be. It is what drives me now. Helping people build something sustainable. Real, lasting results. Not quick fixes.
Who I work with
People from all walks of life. Teenagers as young as 13. Clients in their 80s. Everyone in between. I have also worked with disability support clients, helping them build strength, movement, confidence, and quality of life.
How I coach
Connection, accountability, and genuine care. I do not just coach the body. I coach the person. I want to understand your goals, support your mindset, and walk beside you the whole way. Stronger physically and mentally. Habits that hold for life.
A member moment
The most rewarding part of coaching has been helping everyday people do things they never thought possible. I have coached clients who once lacked the confidence to walk into a gym, then went on to compete in powerlifting alongside me.
Outside the studio
Time with my partner and our daughter. Staying active. Training in powerlifting myself. I also volunteer with the Mudgeeraba Rural Fire Brigade, which has only deepened my love of helping the community.
“I do not just coach the body. I coach the person.”

Coach
Ben Toa
On why this
I came up through rugby league. School grades, junior footy, the lot. From there I went straight into personal training as a teenager. I have always enjoyed helping people. Coaching gave me a way to do it with what I knew best.
What I am proud of
Queensland's Personal Trainer of the Year in 2016. I have been at Evolve since day one. Last year, in 2025, we were named Local Fitness Business of the Year. None of those happen alone. They happen because the team and the members show up.
Who I work with
Tradies who want to be healthier without aggravating the things their body has already been through. And younger blokes who want to learn how to train properly, injury and pain free, before bad habits set in.
How I coach
Clear. Direct. I can coach at any level, whether you have never picked up a weight or you have been training for years. I try to keep things simple. In today's world, you do not need a complicated or punishing program to see real results.
A member moment · Ron
Ron is 72. An engineer, and a business owner. When he first came in, he could not lift his arms above his head without pain. These days he can press thirty kilos comfortably overhead. And he has dropped fifteen kilos along the way.
Outside the studio
Family time with my wife, my daughter, and our bulldog. On my Sunday off, you will probably find me watching sport, or working my way through the best restaurants on the Gold Coast with my wife. We are critics.
“Chest proud. Shoulders back. Every time.”

Coach
Madeline Beck
On why this
I became a coach because I am passionate about helping people change their lives through fitness. After hearing back from a few of the people I had helped along the way, I realised coaching was what I genuinely wanted to do. I am in my element when I am with someone who is trying to come back to themselves.
Who I work with
I love working with people from all walks of life. Over time, though, I have become especially passionate about helping women in their forties and beyond. Women who want to get back into a healthy routine, rebuild their confidence, and lose weight in a way that holds.
It is never too late to start and feel good in your body again. Training in your forties and beyond can still get incredible results. You do not need to be perfect. You just need to be consistent.
How I coach
Positive. Motivating. I will challenge you, keep you accountable, and support you through every stage. Fitness should fit your life, not take it over.
A member moment
Recently a client finished a session, gave me a big hug, and told me she was so thankful she had got back into the gym. So thankful to be training with me. Moments like that are why I do this.
Outside the studio
I teach a few group classes and a bit of dance on the side. Outside that, you will find me at a dance class, cooking proper food, or catching up with friends.
“Never underestimate yourself. Or what consistency can do.”

Coach
Ellyse Thomas
On why this
I found weight training at fifteen. From then on it was where I went when I felt down. When I felt happy. When I needed clarity, confidence, or strength. It built more than my body. It built my mind. Before coaching I worked as a disability support worker. Caring for people and helping them feel better has always been at the heart of what I do. Now I get to do both.
Who I work with
Women in their forties and beyond who are trying to put themselves back at the top of the list. Most of them feel lost on where to start, especially after years of kids, or years of carrying everyone else. I love walking them back to themselves. Reconnecting them with their own confidence. Helping them realise it is never too late to feel strong again.
How I coach
Simple. Get it done. With fun and balance. I want training to feel empowering, enjoyable, and realistic for the life you actually live. It does not have to be extreme. It does not have to be overwhelming. The basics, done consistently, will change everything.
A member moment
One member told me she had donated most of her old clothes because none of them fit anymore. The part that stayed with me was what she said next. Her confidence had changed. She felt comfortable in clothes she would never have worn before. She felt happy in herself again. Moments like that mean more to me than any physical transformation.
Outside the studio
Training is my way to switch off and reconnect with myself. Cooking for the people I love. Surfing. Long lunches with my partner. Trying new restaurants together. On weekends, you will find me at the markets, at the beach, or having a boogie with my girlfriends.
“You’re one step closer to your goal by just getting it done.”

Coach
Luke Crowther
On why this
Training genuinely changed my life. It gave me structure, confidence, and a goal to keep improving. I quickly realised I enjoyed helping other people experience that same shift. Seeing someone achieve something they did not think was possible is still the best part of my job.
A bit of background
Twelve years as a personal trainer and coach. A bit of sales experience, and a short stint in policing before that. Fifteen years of soccer, indoor and outdoor. These days my own training is triathlon and Ironman, and I am working toward my first full Ironman race.
Who I work with
People who want to feel their best again. That covers athletic individuals and the over 40 crowd who have put themselves last for a while and are ready to make a change. Most of them are not as far behind as they think. They just need the right support and a bit of consistency.
How I coach
Supportive. Caring. Focused on building real, lasting results, safely. My job is to help you see what you are actually capable of. Most of the time, that is more than you think.
A member moment
I worked with a client who had stopped running because of an ankle injury. We built a plan to strengthen the ankle and rebuild her confidence in movement. A few months later, she ran a personal best in the half marathon. Something she had told herself she would never do again.
Outside the studio
Triathlon training and racing. Time in nature. The beach with my partner Kayley.
“It is never too late. You just need to start.”

Coach
Jake Bradley
On why this
I help people open doors. I bring them to realisations they had quietly told themselves were impossible. Helping someone through their own growth, and watching them get to the thing they set out to do, is still the part I come back for.
A bit of background
Seven years of group fitness and personal training. Eight years before that in primary school sports. Exercise and sports science at university along the way.
Who I work with
Everyday people who want to learn more about the next stage of their life. I love empowering them with the right information so they can keep moving forward.
How I coach
Adaptable. Everyone has a different way of learning, and I find it genuinely interesting to figure out how someone learns best. Then dial right into that.
A member moment
I've been training with a woman who has struggled with her weight for years. Not only has she lost the weight, she's broadened her perspective enough to plan one last boxing fight. Watching her realise that was possible was one of the most satisfying things I've seen in coaching.
Outside the studio
I'm an AFL fan and a pop culture nerd. Tell me your favourite movie and let's talk about what makes it so good.
“It's possible.”

Operations Manager
Kirrily Baker
Kirrily runs operations at Evolve. Not a coach, but the reason the studio runs the way it does. Memberships. Bookings. Billing. The systems behind the schedule. The hundred small things you only notice when they are not handled.
She looks after every member from the day they join. Making sure the experience around the training feels as good as the training itself. Most of what she does, you will never see. That is exactly the point.
The right coach matters.
